I’m Alison, a Gloucestershire family photographer with over a decade of experience photographing babies, children, families, and celebrations.

I specialise in natural, relaxed images at home or outdoors.

I offer natural family photography across South Gloucestershire, capturing families with a mix of honest, candid moments and timeless portraits.

Raising children means life is messy, beautiful, and non-stop but somewhere in the middle of the chaos, I know you’d love to hold onto the connection, the laughter, and the way your family feels right now.

Whether it’s your toddler’s cheeky grin or a quiet cuddle, these are the memories you’ll want to hold onto. I guide you a little, but mostly I let your family be yourselves and that’s where the magic happens!

How it works

Your family photo session lasts about one hour with time for your children to play, explore, and be themselves. You can choose to do your photos at your home, in your garden, or meet at an outdoor location. A couple of weeks later, you’ll receive a private online gallery of carefully edited images.

Here are answers to some of the most common questions I receive. Take a look, and feel free to contact me if you have any others!

What areas do you cover?
I cover Bristol, Bath, Gloucestershire and Somerset. All travel within a 30-mile radius of Portishead (my home) is included. I can travel further so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’re not in the areas above.
Do you have a studio?
All my work is done on location. I specialise in capturing natural, authentic moments in outdoor settings like parks, woods and fields. If you’d rather have a more relaxed and personal setting, I can also come to your home for a comfortable, familiar environment.
How much will it cost?
The cost depends on the package you choose! To secure your booking, a deposit of £100 is required at the time of booking. I am currently offering three family photo packages.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes, you can purchase photography gift vouchers available as a physical voucher or e-voucher. Great for any occasion! Please see gift vouchers for details.
What happens if it rains?
If the weather turns out to be unsuitable on the day of your photoshoot, don’t worry! We’ll reschedule at no extra cost. While an overcast day works perfectly fine, we’ll rearrange if it’s pouring with rain to ensure the best conditions for your session.
What if my child is ill?
I am happy to reschedule your photoshoot to another date at no extra cost. Please try to give me as much notice as possible.
Will the photos be in colour or black and white?
You’ll receive a mix of both color and black-and-white photos, carefully chosen to suit each image and bring out its best qualities.

Blog story - Gloucester family photoshoot at Robinswood Hill

Robinswood Hill is a lovely place for a family photoshoot – peaceful, spacious, and full of hidden corners that feel like your own little world.

I loved doing this shoot there in a tucked-away meadow. The long, dry grass gave everything a golden, dreamy feel, almost like a scene from a storybook. It was one of those warm summer afternoons where the light just wraps around you!

We got a lovely mix of kids exploring, the little in-between glances and a few gentle, arranged portraits that still felt like them. The kind of images you can imagine on a living room wall or in a photo book you pull out years from now.

One of the things I love most about outdoor sessions like this is how easy and unforced everything feels. The kids can just be themselves, and there’s no pressure to sit still. The result? Photos that really feel like your family.
